History
Beginning in the mid 1990’s Santa Clara County La Raza Lawyers began planning, fundraising, and executing what would later become famously known as the La Raza Annual Scholarship Dinner.
The idea for the creation of the Foundation was the brain child of the late Andrew Gonzalez who was a member of both organizations and was instrumental in creating an endowed scholarship fund to benefit Bay Area law students, particularly those from or who have served the Latinx community.
In 2006, the La Raza Lawyers Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) corporation, was established through the joint efforts of the Santa Clara County La Raza Lawyers Association and the Legal Aid Society of Santa Clara County.
The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, Tax ID 59-3816862. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
