From the Board

Dear Visitor,

It is with great pride that we welcome you to the website for the La Raza Lawyers of Santa Clara County Charitable Foundation. We have come a long way since the late Andrew Gonzalez started our mission in the 1990s. Since that time, thanks to your contributions, we have provided over $300,000 in scholarships directly to Bay Area law students committed to representing and serving the Latino community.

Ahora más que nunca–now more than ever–we reaffirm our commitment to supporting future lawyers who have a demonstrated history of furthering the cause of justice for diverse communities.  With your contributions, we will continue to do just that.

Our Foundation, which formally gained non-profit 501(c)(3) status in 2006, has in recent years also funded a summer judicial internship for Bay Area first-year law students with the California Supreme Court.

We are also thrilled to collaborate with the Katherine & George Alexander Community Law Center of Santa Clara University’s School of Law on a summer fellowship with the Law Center.  The fellowship, named for the late Cindy Avitia, herself an alumna of the Law Center, combines a learning experience with hands-on work with serving our immigrant and low-income communities.

If you would like to be part of this mission, we also encourage you to join our affiliated organization, the Santa Clara County La Raza Lawyers Association.

Gracias, Buena Suerte, y Adelante Siempre,

La Raza Lawyers of Santa Clara County Charitable Foundation Board of Directors
